Tunturi Royale Casino Hotel is a fictional destination on the open Lapland fells, where the sun drops below the horizon in late November and does not properly return until mid-January. What replaces it is not darkness but a strange blue hour that lasts all day. Turf roofs, low timber and warm lamplight run through the whole casino hotel, built low and heavy against a wind that has nothing to slow it down.

Our signature restaurant is built around a central open hearth in the shape of a traditional kota. Reindeer is slow-cooked over embers, Arctic char is smoked in the room, cloudberries and lingonberries come from the summer stores, and flatbread goes straight from the fire to the table. Everything is heavy, hot and meant for a night that does not end—a few steps from the casino hotel salon.
